Murder at Mardi Gras

Tyler's and my birthday are only four days apart, so we pretty much share birthdays and birthday presents now. All of that to say that our friends, the Rutherfords, gave us a murder mystery dinner for our birthdays. We hadn't had a chance to plan and get everybody together for the mystery dinner until last night. The Rutherfords, The Morrises, Tanner Anthony, Nathan Gardner, Tyler and I all had a blast!! On Tuesday night, Ericka and I went to Party City to get decorations for the mystery dinner. They had so much fun stuff, it was hard to limit ourselves to just a few things, but we did and this is what we decided on!

My character was Melissa DuPre (the new Vegas wife of the victim, Pierre DuPre). We all decided to dress the part a little bit, but not over the top. So, I decided to take a picture of each person in their character so you can get an idea of what the night was like!

J. Stephen Peek (A.K.A. Tanner Anthony)
- The DuPre family attorney and Pierre DuPre's closest friend and confidant!

Connika Gothika (A.K.A. Nathan Gardner)
- An eccentric novelist and Pierre DuPre's next-door neighbor.
Bourbon DuPre (A.K.A. Tyler)
- A jazz musician from the French Quarter (who is also revealed as Pierre DuPre's illegitimate son.
Alexis DuPre (A.K.A. Angela Morris)
- Pierre's socialite daughter. A southern belle and the reigning "Magnolia Queen" at Dixie University.
Matthew (Gator) Crovitz - (A.K.A. Seth Morris)
- A boy from the Bayou who worked his way through law school. He is madly in love with Alexis DuPre.
Elise St. Gresch (A.K.A. Ericka Rutherford)
- The young and attractive live-in maid at DuPre Chateau.

Cayenne Pepper (A.K.A. Patrick Rutherford)
- The DuPre family chef and an aspiring TV star.

It was a really fun night. We had so much fun dressing up and spending time with friends. These two girls have been so great about making me feel welcome in my transition from Lubbock to Dallas. They have been so wonderful and loving and inclusive. God was so good to put them in my life!
Tyler and I really enjoyed being able to hang out with the Rutherfords and the Morrises as a couple. We love being married and love each other so very much, although, I'm not really sure what this face is that my husband is making?!?
Seth and Tyler have been best friends for the longest time. They are so cute with their little Mardi Gras masks. They kind of look like Batman and Robin! Cute.
I hope you all enjoyed this brief view into our fun-filled night! Tyler has his first hockey game of this season tomorrow night. I will try to take pictures and share them with everyone on here. I pray that the Lord is blessing you all daily and keeping your guardian angels with you.

Until next time,
Much love from the Anthonys!
