Since then, Tyler and I have been wrapped up in some different things. We renewed the lease on our apartment and will be in 835 until the end of June. We are excited because we love our apartment complex and it gives us more time to save towards a house (maybe a car). Also, Tyler and I have been enjoying the tennis courts at our complex occasionally. We have so much fun going out and just playing and having some athletic activity. In addition, we have been watching some hockey. Between Connor and Seth Morris, we end up seeing at least one hockey game a week. The biggest thing we have been dealing with recently is our vehicles. My car has been in the shop twice in the past week. Tyler's vehicle is making a funny sound in the engine. So, we are considering a new vehicle.
Yesterday, we went to Frisco since it was such a beautiful day. We visited Ikea where we got two seat covers for our balcony table. After that, we decided we would just go look at some cars to see if we could get a better idea of what we like and can afford. BIG MISTAKE!!!
We test drove a Nissan X-terra. We loved it, but it was a 2006 with 48,000 miles on it, no key-less entry, there were a couple of dings on it, some scratches on the back gate, and the back was falling off the front passenger seat. They were asking too much for a vehicle of that quality. So we told the salesman that we weren't going to take his offer and we were just going to leave. So he said he would go get us the keys for Tyler's car (they took them so they could inspect it and see what they could give us as a trade in). Anyways, he did NOT get us the keys, he brought another sales guy back with him that was pushier than a push-pop!! This guy was insane. He looked like he was in his late 30's early 40's, was missing his front right tooth, has 10 kids and moved from Illinois to Texas because he bought a house (not for a job, or family . . . a house). He just kept saying "What do I have to do to get your business today?" It was so annoying. Finally, after we told them 'no' ten times, they said they would go get our keys for us. We were relieved . . . until we saw yet another salesman walking up to us. AAAAAHHHH!!! He was much more polite and mild-mannered, but still trying to sale us a car. After being at the dealership for 3 1/2 hours, we finally were able to leave. We were both exhausted and starving. So, we went to eat Asian food at Pei Wei and relaxed.
We are still looking for a vehicle, preferably an SUV. So, if anyone knows of a good deal on an X-terra or any SUV, please let us know!
After our slightly intense experience on Saturday, we had a beautiful lesson at church this morning about husbands and wives. If you want to hear some of the sermons that our preacher has given recently just click here. God is so good! He just continues to bless Tyler and I in our journey together. We pray that all of you have a blessed week.
Love,
Nicole
ughghhh sorry about that weird car experience!! We had a similar one when we were looking for an SUV--when Elliott asked if we could test drive it and possibly take it to a mechanic to get it checked out, the guys response was "I don't have time for that" so we just walked away. We DID end up finding an xterra on cars.com and we LOVE it!! You can look in your area, or do the crazy thing like we did, and El flew to Columbus, OH to pick it up and drive it home because it was was cheaper than anything around here. So anyways-that's my 2 cents :) sorry for the long comment and hope you are having a fabulous week!!
