Master's, Birthdays & Mars in the Sky

So after looking at the pictures stored on my cameras memory, I realized that there were a few big events that I left out of the first post. August was a big month . . . so much happened! First, on August 7th, I received my diploma stating that I am officially a Master of Arts in Mass Communications!!!! Those of you who were around to experience my stress and delirium during the process know what a blessing and relief it was to receive that precious piece of paper.

Tyler's family was so sweet to throw us a SURPRISE get-together celebrating my Master's and our birthdays! Tyler's birthday is only four days after mine, so we are pretty much committed to a life of sharing a birthday . . . which in actuality isn't all that bad. It's kind of fun and much more convenient for all of our family and friends. We had so much fun planning each other's birthdays

Tyler surprised me with a cookie cake and an AWESOME birthday gift. He got me Nike+ for when i work out and a purple iPod Nano!! Not only that, he took me to dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant in Downtown Fort Worth, MiCocinas! And when we got there, he had all of our friends waiting there to surprise me!! He did a really good job of helping me celebrate my first birthday away from my family. What a wonderful husband!!

Then it was Tyler's birthday . . . and little did he know that I was planning a surprise birthday party for him also. We were going to go to dinner with his family at On the Border. Then while we were at dinner all of his friends were going to show up at our apartment to surprise him when with gifts and desserts when we got home. But, that is not how things went at all . . . Tyler took it upon himself to invite all of his friends to dinner also!!! I was trying to be a good wife and help him have a good birthday so I agreed to it (in the meantime trying to scheme in my head how I could still make everything a surprise). Long story short, he still loved it and it all worked out. So here are a few pictures from his celebration.

Nathan and Tanner entertaining themselves with the neon balloons!!

Seth and Leslie looking at pictures of the Morris's new house!!
Little K-dub joined in on the balloon fun.

Then, on August 27th Mars was the closest it has ever been to the earth. This made Mars visible at night, and if you look closely just right to the center of this picture, you can see a red moon shaped object. This is Mars!! I made Tyler drive me around to get a good picture, however, this was the best I could get. Supposedly this same event is not supposed to occur again for a couple of centuries! Amazing!

So those are a couple of things that I forgot to bring up in my very first post. I hope y'all enjoy the updates.
