Here is a snapshot of my second trimester progression!
As you can see, little Ellie is growing like a weed. I can't believe I am already in the home stretch, the third trimester and in less than three months I'm going to be a mom!!!! I'm excited, nervous, anxious, thankful and feel so blessed.
I went in for my glucose test on Tuesday morning and I have to say the orange solution was not as bad as people made it seem. I thought it tasted like Orange Crush (and since I didn't have anything to eat or drink that morning) ... I chugged it!
Praying that those results will come back saying I don't have gestational diabetes. While the doctor was measuring my belly and searching for a heart beat (apparently Ellie was playing hide-and-seek with the doc) he got called out on an emergency. So I got to see him for a total of 2 minutes. That's ok though, it just shows me that if there is an emergency he is going to take care of me! What's important is that Ellie is doing good with a strong heart rate in the 140's and she is still wiggling all around.
We are now in the third trimester at 28 weeks!
How Far Along: 28 weeks
Baby Size: 14.8 inches, 2 1/4 lbs
Total Weight Gain: 18 lbs.
Maternity Clothes: Absolutely
Sleep: Sleep is still good, but nothing like those nights full of dreams from the first trimester.
Best Moment This Week: Hearing Ellie's heartbeat again ... it's always reassuring
Miss Anything? Coca-Cola ... and the ability to move around gracefully. It seems every move now requires a grunt! Tyler can attest to this.
Movement: Yes. A lot of wiggling, rolling, elbowing and kicking - I wouldn't trade it for the world!
Food Cravings: this morning I had a spontaneous craving for a big homemade chocolate chip cookie
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick? Nope
Gender: GIRL!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? We are still border line. The bottom half is now flush with my belly but the top still has a lip.
Wedding Rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking Forward To: Our shower in Lubbock next weekend!
On another note ... my dear friend, Kecia, lives in Lubbock and was 12 weeks ahead of me (to the day) in her pregnancy. This morning she went in to labor and will be meeting her daughter today. It has been so nice to have someone so close going through the same life phase at the same time as me. Also, it makes me realize that it won't be too much longer until I get to meet my own daughter!
Praying for a safe and smooth delivery for Kecia and Landon. God is good and shows me grace daily!
Until next time,
Nicole
